Animated a new rain effect. Oooh, rainy.
Bit of a short page, especially after last weeks, but we finally find ourselves at the end of chapter 6! Longest Buying Time chapter so far, and made it through with no breaks! Though with that being said, hiatus time! I'm doing the usual end-of-chapter song and dance to rebuild buffer.

For old readers you know the drill. For new readers, I'll continue to update each week with production sketches, behind the scenes stuff and other goodies as I work to rebuild my buffer for chapter 7. This will likely last a month and a half or two months depending on production. I'll end the hiatus with a Q&A with a particular character. Check back each Sunday for this and schedule updates.

Big thanks to Ted and Pedro who donated to the comic this week, I appreciate the support guys!

Thanks for reading, hope you enjoyed this chapter!

I'm scared to read this sometimes, but it's such a great story and it makes me so happy, but I came here awhile back from "The Less than Epic Adventures of T.j. and Amal", and every page I go through reminds me of the impending heartbreak of the story's eventual end, and no doubt I'll be devastated when it does BUT!!! from the way you've told this story from the beginning I'm certain that the ending you'll give will be perfect and I'll always fondly look back upon these pages re-reading them again and again

Lol no I have no idea how the story's gonna play out, just a vibe I got from reading it, didn't mean to cause any panic >,>

Thanks Brein, I'm hoping people will enjoy the inevitable conclusion, but know there will be those disappointed it's over. Gotta move on to my next story!

so are these licenses an equivalent to getting hitched?

But it's nice that gavin and vinnie are getting serious with their relationship, i wonder what hardships await them?
Notos 3rd May 2015, 2:42 PM edit delete reply
It's not particularly the same as getting married (despite Vinnie's reaction conflating it being more serious than marriage) It basically applies to any common law situation, so un-married couples, family, roommates that have lived together for a certain period of time, etc.

That environment in the first panel is just gorgeous. The colors are like eye candy: everything is blended so smooth;y. Very impressive. Envious!
Have fun on your hiatus.
Thanks for another great update.

It was actually kind of nice to get back to the city, I missed drawing it.

(I honestly was confused why there can be rain on such a low level as the one where Vinnie lives xD)

Well, guess, that argument didn't exactly makes him happy about the next step with Galvin, huh? Poor guy

I lol'd irl.
And yeah, Guest. It's condensation and excess runoff from all the levels above. Yummy!

The "Rain" is like Soylent Green. Made of and by the people..

Shall we chear? It's good news, isn't it?

Don't forget to take some rest while rebuilding the buffer!

Thanks for this great chapter with its life-like ups and downs b^^d
Notos 3rd May 2015, 11:42 PM edit delete reply
What is this 'rest' you speak of?
Though next week should be pretty light, mostly working on script revisions.
Thanks and glad you enjoyed the chapter.

I believe he doesn't look particularly thrilled is because of him believing he won't make big money with his music due to the fight he just had. :(

And i can't wait for the next chapter, i love you!!!! <3 ^/////u/////^

How does precipitation work in the city exactly? I don't imagine the rain trickles down all the way from the surface. Ia it a natural phenomenon due to the differences in temperature and humidity between the upper and lower levels? Or is it a regulated thing designed to keep the lower levels "clean"?
Notos 3rd May 2015, 11:43 PM edit delete reply
The levels are for the most part, enclosed/have a 'ceiling' that is the level above. Condensation forms and falls in the form of 'rain'.
justkeepondriving 3rd May 2015, 9:48 PM edit delete reply
Loving the new rain animation! And all that fluorescent yellow ;)
Ooooh big exciting changes up ahead for V&G!!!
Notos 3rd May 2015, 11:44 PM edit delete reply
It was nice getting back into the city, felt out of my element drawing sunny, desert wastelands.

As usual: Thank you so much for this! :) Agree with the other comments: THat first panel is gorgeous!!! Love the rain effect, the shading/lights - everything.

Dont overwork yourself when rebuilding the buffer! Will wait patiently here no amtter if it takes 1, 2 or 3 months. Its always worth the wait :)

How long will thw story be?
Notos 3rd May 2015, 11:45 PM edit delete reply
Thanks, I feel I'm getting faster as producing pages as time goes on, so I imagine this hiatus won't be as intense as the others.
The story will be 8 chapters.

Admiral Jane
It appears that Vinnie was listening to his headphones as he was brooding. Music is always a comfort that way, at least for me.

I'm trying to decide how Vinnie feels about the approval. He looks almost a little panicked. This is a good thing, Vinnie, isn't it?

Have a good hiatus. I know you're working through it, but still, enjoy!
Notos 3rd May 2015, 11:50 PM edit delete reply
Thanks Jane. I will indeed be working throughout it, but I think it will be less intense than last chapter; a bit shorter and no departures into environments I'm not familiar drawing, we'll be in the comfort of good ol' Hyperion.
Draginbeard 3rd May 2015, 11:03 PM edit delete reply
Yea! Glad for Vinnie and Galvin!

I hope Vinnie and Fridge can work things out with their music, it would be cool to see Vinnie get credit for his musical talents.

I am just as surprised as Vinny is that the application was approved that quickly. Bureaucratic nonsense always takes forever.
Notos 4th May 2015, 1:22 PM edit delete reply
I imagine in a future, digital age a couple of weeks is forever ;)
Kiri 4th May 2015, 8:53 AM edit delete reply
I'm a bit confused - when did Vinnie finish saving up his share of the application fee? Or is the approval done before the fee is required?

Notos - have a lovely hiatus. Don't work too hard - I really enjoy your work-in-progress updates, and of course the Q&A.
Notos 4th May 2015, 1:22 PM edit delete reply
They basically just applied to see if they are eligible. The fee is due after they register/activate and the city finalizes the license.

I started reading this today, and there is always a feeling of dread when you reach the current part of a webcomic. Now I have to wait to read this... No!!! It is a really good story though, and definitely worth any wait.
Notos 8th May 2015, 3:24 AM edit delete reply
Hi Quinn, welcome aboard and glad you're enjoying it! Thanks for the patience during the waits.

I figure RuPaul and you are referencing the same thing, Roland TR-808? ^^
