Holy smokes, 15 mins for lunch, 3,000 leisure credits gone... no wonder he's not much for social interactions!

Very smooth dialog, really getting to know these characters, excellent work =D

It adds up quickly! I've been keeping track of Vinnie's balance for the story, it was just a day or two ago he was at 24,000

it's interesting seeing the courtship under the whole daily leisure credit system...it actually cuts down on the usual BS people have to go through just to get laid.

Yes very true! I think things would be moving at an even quicker pace too if Vinnie wasn't so shy. Alot of the time I bet people are just like 'Alright, my place, tonight. You down?' to bypass DLC altogether. Of course you will still get charged for visiting someone's house and any physical contact.

You get charged extra for physical contact? Down with the system! Fight the power! >:I

What happens if they decide to say fuck it and talk / hang out after they have depleted there leisure credits?

Think of it as the same way an unpaid traffic ticket is like; they won't come with a SWAT Team smashing through your windows, but there will be a very hefty fine, and a warrant will go out for your arrest if it sits too long unpaid.

You would be better off to be an introvert living in this world. This story is realistically depressing, but in an interesting way.

Wonderful page, smooth dialogue as always! One thing I've thought about, how does interacting with family work? Such as talking with your children or wife, do you still get charged for that? Neglecting your children because you lack money seems.. terrible.

The end of Chapter 1 supplement goes into that a bit, there are "family plans" available that cut down on the cost significantly. Likewise there are plans for business owners and stuff like that, for example Galena would have some kind of Business Plan for her bar, so she can interact with customers at a discount.

I like how at first he didn't really care about the DLC balance and he was just excited to hang out with Galvin.

It must be an advantage because he is shy 90% of the time!

Awwn well Galvin accepted to have a date. i must say that im a big fan of this webcomic love the characters (specially Vinnie :3). i just hope you are not into breaking the heart of your fans with some bad surprise like someone you know i think in FA did in some other webcomic out there. i know talented writers are appreciared when they get to their to feel what their characters feel. awwwn cute Vinnie overcome shyness a little to ask that question. something i was going to ask you, will you explain in some suplement why the DLC was implemented in first place im very curious what lead to that.
Notos 23rd Jul 2013, 5:54 PM edit delete reply

There isn't much of a story to why DLC became implemented, it's much the same as how DLC became 'a thing' with videogames; at first it was a pretty minor thing you'd only see once in awhile. Fast forward a few years and it's basically standard, almost required. It's exploited, and people seem to just accept it. 10 years ago if I told you we'd be paying extra for "the real endings" in videogames you'd think I was out of my mind.

I imagine with Daily Leisure Credit it was a similar integration; something that was at one point free and for (generally) entertainment purposes was seen as something that could be monetized and exploited by a greedy mega-corporation.

mmm but here it sounds more like something established by law or goverment. in any case your idea of this world actually is pretty interesting very well thought. i hope maybe someday you make another animation ( i have seen your other works) based on buying time. well the bad point i suppose is hard to find adequate voices for characters but it would be awesome. by the way love seeing Vinnie blushing he look even cuter :3.

regarding to videogames well im so retrogaymer (still play snes on emulator) in modern consoles only get very rare dlc only not so fan of downloding too much but i get your point. excelent work in this keep it up!!!

I just noticed alph from pikmin3 and vin have same hair ;) they both rock it.

Never played any of the Pikimin games myself. What originally inspired Vinnies hair is a scrapped character design from Megaman Legends 3, one character had a blonde mohawk I thought looked cool ;)
