Hyperion City! Originally this was a long vertical pan. Turns out Flash really doesnt like animated pans...learning as I go. So I opted for a still shot with a few added animated signs.

This is really brilliant stuff. If I could make one gripe... For what you're doing here, it may work better as a landscape layout rather than a traditional "print comic" portrait style layout. Having to scroll down to hit the arrow button then scroll back up to see what changed, isn't so hot. (or you could put the arrow higher up along the side of the page). Just a suggestion, but really, this is a very impressive and promising concept.

Thanks El Cid! Though it's not necessary to hit the arrow button, you can click anywhere to bring up the next panel. The arrow is really just an indicator to show when the page is finished when it disappears.

I hope you are working for George Lucas or Pixar because you are phenomenally talented.

Thanks for the kind words.I'm still inspired and in awe by the work of the two you mentioned so I don't think I'm ready for them yet ;)

Damn! This is spectacular! How long does it take to does something like this?
Notos 12th May 2013, 9:09 PM edit delete reply
Thanks Doug, it's hard to gauge time since I work on pages throughout the week in my free time, I just turn on music or a movie and loose track of time. The city shot probably took most of the week though...

Just want to rave about how awsome this is. Love the genre, topic, art, everything.

On an unrelated note, how deep is a level? I want to figure out how big of an earth shattering kaboom we're talking about here.
Notos 13th May 2013, 3:06 AM edit delete reply
Thanks so much, Jack. I never thought of the exact specifics for level height. I designed the city after those great city designs from 80's sci fi anime where you can't see the bottom, or the top, just impossibly tall towers. Maybe each level is 3-5 stories.

Did you consider making a HTML5 version? I tried to watch it lately on my (Android) tablet and it was just painfully slow.
Adobe Edge Animate is for free now and once you have the elements of your comic, you could do quite quickly html5 version compatible with iOS and Android mobile devices.

Hi Sebek, I would certainly consider it if the learning curve isn't too steep and if the time it takes to make an alternate version doesn't outweigh the time to make the standard version. I'll look into it and see if it's do-able time wise, I want the comic to have a wide an audience as possible, but still gotta dedicate alot of time to keep the standard version updated.

I wanted to post this already a week ago, but now I'm sure: This comic reminds me of the work of Jean Giraud :) You're doing a very good and great job, man!

What an ambitious interactive style for a webcomic! This is going to get a lot of attention! You just wait.

I like to find some of your references in your pics. I noticed the OEDO 808 of Cyber City series. I've discovered those series I was 8 or 9 so it's a bit of my childhood. I love what you do, and whatever people could ever say, or that you could ever think, keep on doing this comic, it's freaking brilliant, can't wait to see what's coming up next!

Thanks Baron, glad you appreciate the references, that era of anime and cartoons was a huge part of why I do art now. Feel free to check out the Reference & Homage page for more
